Vibe Coding

About

For Grades 9-12. Vibe coding means building software by describing what you want to AI and steering it until it works. Students learn to plan an app, write clear specs and prompts, and build with Claude and Lovable. They add a database and user login, test and fix bugs with AI, and deploy to a live link. The capstone is a working web app that solves a real problem.

Why it matters for the future

AI now writes a large share of the world's code. The skills that matter are knowing what to build, describing it precisely, and checking whether the result actually works. Students learn to ship real software without years of syntax, and to judge AI output instead of trusting it blindly.

Careers in the field

• Product Manager
• Full-Stack / Software Developer
• Startup Founder
• UX / Product Designer
• AI Solutions Engineer

Outcomes

✔ Learn how to turn an idea into clear specs and prompts that Claude and Lovable can build into working software.

✔ Build a live web app that solves a real problem, with a database, user login and a public link.

✔ Publish your finished app and build log on Futurowise, with a live link you can share on LinkedIn.

✔ Apply the same workflow to student hackathons and contests like Technovation Girls and the Conrad Challenge.

Overview

Before the program Students receive a short pre-read on how AI coding tools turn plain language into code, and set up free Claude and Lovable accounts, so Session 1 starts with building. Week 1 - From Idea to First App Session 1 | Foundations What vibe coding is, how AI coding tools work, and where they fail. Students build and publish their first simple app live in the session. Session 2 | Specs and prompts Turning an idea into a one-page spec, user flows and screens. Prompting for layout, features and iteration. Session 3 | Data and logins Adding a database and user login. Students choose a real problem for their capstone and get their project brief approved. Week 2 - Capstone Project Session 4 | Debugging with AI Reading errors, testing features, fixing bugs, and knowing when to restart a prompt. Basics of privacy and security in student apps. Session 5 | Build sprint Capstone build with instructor feedback. Polishing design and mobile view, and testing with a real user. Session 6 | Demo day Deploying to a live link, presenting the app, and peer and instructor feedback. Project submission deadline: two days after Session 6 After the program: Students complete their build log, submit for publishing, and receive their certificate. They leave with a live app and a repeatable way to turn ideas into working software.

Why students choose Futurowise

Student Quote

The cohort size being small made the meetings very interactive which I really liked about this program. Moreover, I enjoyed researching for the project given to us, which were then very well evaluated and we were given valuable feedback about the real-world applicability.

I loved that we got to actually build and test our own AI agents instead of just learning about them theoretically. It was really fun seeing my idea turn into a working prototype. I’d definitely recommend it to my friends if want to learn how to build something themselves. It’s practical, interactive, and you get to leave with your own working agent.

Futurowise's Carbon Credit Trading program broke down complex concepts, from trading mechanics to sustainability regulations, and connected every idea to how real markets actually work. I left with a clear understanding of something most adults find difficult to explain.
